Tom & Sandi Hofmann - Background Information

I (Tom) grew up on a farm near Sutton, Nebraska. My religious training was in the Free German Salem Reformed Church, where everything was learned in German. In fact, German is my first language. I farmed with my father and brother until Sandi and I moved from the area.

I (Sandi) grew up on a farm near Holdrege, Nebraska where I attended a Methodist church. Upon graduation from high school I attended Hastings College and received an elementary education degree with an endorsement in special education. After graduation I was a resource teacher with ESU #9 traveling between Marquette, Hordville and Hampton.

A few years after we married we quit farming and moved to Smithfield, Nebraska for several years. When we moved back to the Sutton area, our children were invited to Bible School and Awana at the Faith Evangelical Bible Church in Henderson. Here we finally heard and understood the Gospel of Jesus Christ and accepted Him as our Saviour. Our children accepted Christ at an Awana Olympics meet the next year.

We experienced God using Awana to reach children and their families. We started helping in our local church and in the area ministry. Little by little our involvement increased until we felt the Lord leading us to full time ministry.

We have three children: Angela, Lisa, and John. Angela went home to the Lord in 1991. Lisa and her husband Josh live in central Nebraska where he manages the computer system in a health care center and she is a homemaker. John lives on the east coast and works at a travel center.
