Steve & Debbie Flagg - Background Information
Steve and Debbie both grew up in Jackson, Michigan. Debbie trusted Jesus to be her Savior when she was 7 years old. Steve spent almost 12 years on active duty with the U.S. Navy before putting his trust in Jesus.
After being honorably discharged, Steve went to work for TRW, (now Northrop Grumman) as a defense contractor. Although he was aware of his eternal security, there was still an emptiness that he felt in his heart; he longed to serve God in a deeper way. Steve was involved in a wide variety of lay-ministries in Maryland, and was introduced to Awana through a Cross-Trainers Club, where he was a club helper and Debbie worked in the Cubbies Club.
Still seeking God's will for their lives, Steve and Debbie moved to Nebraska in 1999. During this time, Steve sensed God's call to serve Him in ministry, so he served on staff in several churches in the eastern Nebraska, Western Iowa region as Worship Pastor, Children's Pastor, Discipleship Pastor and an Awana Commander. Steve currently serves as worship leader in his home church, Living Faith Church in Ralston, Nebraska. Recently, Steve recognized that God was calling he and his wife to become Awana Missionaries and have been accepted as missionary candidates.
Steve and Debbie have three children; Ryan works at a local restaurant, Levi is involved in wrestling and plays french horn, and Emily plays volleyball and oboe and is involved in dance.
